A lot of controversy has been brought up due to the case of the shooting of Trayvon Martin back in February. He was fatally shot in a gated community by a neighbor who was the head of the neighborhood watch. A public outcry against various parties in the case has risen since the event; some calling it a case of racism while others feel that the shooter was only doing his duty. Since Martin was wearing a hoodie when he was shot, multiple hoodie protests and fundraisers have sprouted all over the country to show support to Martin. One particular case is interesting in the fact that an eighth grade teacher was fired after attempting to organize one such fundraiser. Here is a link to an article that explains more about the firing. HERE
Do you think that this was justified? How do you feel about this case?
