How do people end up where they are? How do we contextualize ourselves in the world? These are difficult questions because of the sometimes uncomfortable answers we encounter, but they are important. Nam Le, in “Love and Honour and Pity and Pride and Compassion and Sacrifice” is able to confront these questions through meta-fiction: a story about a story.
This week, the WSP team was asked to confront these questions directly or indirectly, to creatively situate themselves in relation to their histories, or past experiences. We used creative non-fiction, epistolary technique, expository essay, etc – and told the stories.
These are our stories. We hope they resonate.
