Daily Tidbit: Ghost Word

A “ghost word,” according to the Merriam Webster Dictionary means a “word form never in established usage.”

In 1931, the word “dord” was accidentally input into the Webster’s Dictionary, originally meant to refer to “density.” Because of this, dord is known as a ghost word that does not have any meaning whatsoever.
