Describe your current self in three words.

Caffeinated, reflective, and ambitious.

What are you currently involved in? What motivates you?

I am the internship coordinator for SEA CLEAR, a family head for SEASoN conference, a coordinator for SEATED, and an occasional dental assistant. I am motivated by the sacrifices that my refugee parents made for me to be able to chase my dreams and find fulfillment. I am motivated by friends and family that bring out the best in me.

Define community. What communities are you a part of?

Community is where I am surrounded with people. My definition for community is always evolving but I will always find community in my chosen family. I am a part of the SEA CLEAR community, the apartment 214 community, the BRC Intergroup Dialogue community, and the Southeast Asian community at UCLA.

What was the last movie you watched?

Parasite! Highly recommend if you never want to feel alone again.

What is your favorite comfort food?

Vietnamese banh xeo

Share an inspirational quote you live by.

“Try not to become a person of success, but rather try to become a person of value.”

What was the last gift you gave someone?

I gave my boyfriend a new water bottle for Valentine’s Day! This is your annual reminder to PLEASE clean your hydroflask.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

Ideally, as a dental student living in a cozy studio apartment filled with houseplants and 85 bread!

What was a memorable moment you had in CPO?

In between performances at last spring’s CPO Community Reception, my staff and I took it to the dancefloor with all the interns. Dancing and singing to hip hop, R&B, and cumbia with all my best friends is a memory that I will always cherish.

Has working in SEA CLEAR taught you anything? If yes, what did you learn?

Working in SEA CLEAR has taught me how important empathy is to interpersonal connections. Being a peer counselor, I have learned to be patient, to listen without judgement, and to uplift those in my community. SEA CLEAR has taught me to be a better friend, daughter, sister, leader, and person.

If you were a piece of bread, what kind would you be and why?

The choco bun from 85! Looks pretty average from the outside but inside filled with a lot of depth (choco spread) and surprises (choco chips).

Do you have anything you want to accomplish by the end of this year?

By the end of this year, I would like to have finished applying to professional school and have learned to spell nauseous without using autocorrect.
